When I first met Darrell he was 17 years old. I took a trip to Buffalo NY, visiting a band that I'd played with in NYC, and agreed to do a show with them. They had a new drummer - Darrell. All I can say is that he knocked my socks off.

To summarize, Darrell has a raft of intuitive sensibilities to his playing. He quickly understands the piece of music in front of him, and does it justice. Subtle and sensitive, to rhythmic dance music, to hard metal bashing, and everything in between, including (honest) C&W music and old-school R&B are all parts of his palette.

We've played many shows/concerts together for decades, and we've been a recording team for almost as many years.

Darrell Nutt is not only the drummer's drummer - he's the musician's musician.

Please tell Darrell that I've been blessed to record Gadd, Aronoff, Chester Thompson, Paul Leim, Eddy Bayers, and many first-call guys, and that his tracks knocked my dick in the dirt. Tone, time, feel, audio quality, and tracks provided were all A-list material. He has a new fan in Germany...

Drum samples I’ve purchased in the past have been somewhat disappointing - a lot of single velocity, pre-mixed, over-hyped drum sounds that don’t blend well with a real kit. Darrell’s samples are very well-recorded, and besides the awesome variety of drums you get, each is recorded with multiple mics, velocity layers, and articulations (where appropriate). There are even some extra effects like saturation, compression and ambience included. Recently I was mixing a song with home-recorded drums that were less than ideal. I pulled up Trigger 2 and browsed Darrell’s samples, A/Bing with the original drums. I found it very easy and intuitive to find a drum I liked and then mix the multiple channels on the fly right within Trigger 2, creating a part that meshed well with the original vibe of the kit, while giving me more impact and punch in the mix.

I gotta tell you that these samples sound fantastic!!! When I pulled them up in a session and went through them - I was extremely pleased at the quality! Man, there are so many snare samples that I can use. I think these are the best sounding samples that I have! I really appreciate you making them available and the price is very fair!

Darrell is actually the best drummer I have ever worked with. (And I worked with quite a few in the last 20 years.) Darrell is highly skilled, very committed, easy to work with and, last but not least, such an awesome person. I will be back for more projects with him soon.

Purchased all three of Darrell's Expansions for Trigger 2. I already have CLA and Blackbird Studio, which are good, but Darrell's are by far the best I’ve tried. Great sound, great variety and totally worth the price. Thanks Darrell ! Keep’em coming!

My favorite thing about the Darrell Nutt Signature Drum Pack is that they sound like real drums - but better! As a producer that's mostly using real world sounds, nothing is more frustrating for me than when I pull up samples that are too processed and won't be able to easily blend in the song. These drums sound great, are easy to use, and fit an important missing spot in my sound arsenal.

When I have two different genres that I'm mixing that need to be done now, I know without a doubt, I can pull up Darrell's drum pack and feel at ease that I will get the right sound I'm looking for with superior sound quality. I love the flexibility I get with this pack. Thanks Darrell for helping my mixes go smoothly.
